Amel, a young woman from Gaza, was on a business trip in Cairo, with her return initially planned for October 8, 2023. However, that date passed, and one year later, in October 2024, Amel and her friends are still stuck in Cairo. Amidst the war, genocide, exile, and administrative uncertainty, Amel has chosen to resist.
This video is part of a research-creation project aimed at building a collective narrative of exiled women from the MENA region (North Africa and the Middle East).
This video was exhibited during the Sumud exhibition, The Decolonial Workshop: Palestine in North Africa – Resistances and Solidarities, at Le32Bis, Tunis, Tunisia, 2024.
