This is a video installation composed of two videos facing each other.
This installation explores the relationship between the body and dance, as well as the concept of control from different perspectives. It first questions the presence of the camera, perceived as a tool of surveillance, the gaze of another, or a manifestation of self-censorship and self-control.
Additionally, the work reflects on the relationship with the body as a feminine social Self. This Self is subjected to societal constraints and pressures that we sometimes believe we have overcome, yet continue to influence us unconsciously.
The camera can also be seen as a mirror, evoking the mirror stage as developed by Lacan. In this context, it becomes a tool for reconstruction: an attempt to redefine oneself and to forge a new relationship with this physical entity we call our body.
